Vote With Green Issues in Mind

Written by Beverly Saunders

It's down to it...time to cast your vote. This is an election where the choices regarding our environment and the green issues are the decisive ones. All issues are important, but in this election BC voters have some very critical choices to make about our economy and whether we want to continue down the path of selling our resources and depending on fossil fuels for our income. The choice of our beautiful BC coast, wildlife and our children's future trumps everything.

A bright light was shined on a deserving Sunshine Coast business last week. Gibsons Recycling Depot was awarded the Best Green Business for BC by Small Business BC. Owners Buddy Boyd and Barb Hetherington have worked hard for decades to set an example for other business owners and to show how going to Zero Waste can not only help our environment, but be profitable as well.
