Bears are coming out at Gibsons Recycling Depot to support Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. These bears are recycled plywood cut-outs that can be painted and decorated and are part of a fund-raising art event. Bears can be purchased at Gibsons Recycling depot for $20 and all proceeds go to the wildlife centre.

Two successful screenings of "Urban Roots" brought gardeners, farmers and food activists from the Sunshince Coast together to exchange ideas, food and plants. The film documents the story of local citizens and urban farmers in Detroit, Michigan coming together to grow their own food and reclaim unused land in the inner city.

A trip to the Sunshine Coast is always a treat for visitors, but imagine adding a fun, learning experience to the mix. That is just what local entrepreneur Sheila Cameron of Gibsons had in mind when she created Catch Our Drift Earthly Journeys. This new coast business aims to create local income and increase global awareness.

 An enthusiastic crowd gave director Velcrow Ripper a standing ovation following a sneak preview of his latest film "Occupy Love" at the Green Film Series showing on Monday, January 3 at the Heritage Playhouse.
